Some months of operation has the hotel Cirilo Armstrong, an alternative to the current range of hotels in Valparaiso, which promises to enhance the cultural character that the port has developed in recent years.

An empty lot overlooking the Quebrada Miraflores, the Cerro Cárcel and near by to the cerro Panteon, was the place chosen by Elisa Assler and her husband, the architect Joaquín Velasco, to build the hotel Cirilo Armstrong. Originally, the land was purchased by his parents to develop a housing project, but over time they opted for a hotel, but not a typical hotel, since interest were clearly going for something less commercial and that meant a contribution to the city.

Both are artists and artists' children: Elisa is a visual artist and designer, daughter of our National Art Award, Federico Assler and Joaquin is the son of Joaquin Velasco and Patricia Rubio, both prominent architects and she is a outstanding stained glass artist. Because of this art has been a constant in their lives and under that premise they decided that would be the axis around which the concept of the hotel would be developed. They located for this purpose a large common room, which brings together hosts and guests and also contains the living room of Cirilo, equipped for meetings, workshops, etc...

11 departments, all on two floors, bedroom upstairs and lobby down stairs ,some with terrace, up the stakes of this boutique hotel, which are equipad with everything you need to spend some time and get to know what the port has to offer, in addition to the complete activities that thi hass couple, including trips to the plant nurseries in the area, excursions or tours of artists studios.

So far the buzz has functioned as the best letter of recommendation and reservations have increased. Tel: 318 7257. www.ciriloarmstrong.com

It's absolutely of architects, visual artists and sculptors. Their own pace and points to a very definite target. The truth is that the offer made by the boutique Hotel is the location of Cirilo Armstrong, almost hanging from the creek. All very Valpo. All very familiar. Joaquín Velasco and his wife Elisa Assler, were returning from Barcelona and refined  the architectural concept, integrating and making a work apart from other 11 departments that the passengers even hold for months, "the public is very diverse, says Joaquin, from people who spend the night to others who come to work, filmmakers, journalists, who stay weeks to a month. "

BREAKFAST AND MORE

With a very good room for intimate events, there can be a cultural offer that is grouped in the Porteñas sessions, the best example of the last recital of Laetitia Sadier, former lead singer of Stereolab, the disc also presented their Pascuala Ilabaca and Jaime Frez, work they did back in India. "Also there is a theater and gastronomic activities are scheduled tightly shut." People come in and install their headquarters here and if you like what will happen or if they have heard of it before, you participate . Although we only  serve breakfast, there is always the possibility of taking a beer or uncorking a fine wine while you can see the collection of books we have to sell and display. With gems such as the ones left to us by the Royal de Luxe, books with models of the dolls that they build as the Little Giant. "Besides there are always the works and objects of Elisa Assler, the hostess, who before opening the hotel had only one condition: to have their own showcase. In it there is from ties to illustrated story books. All unique and beautiful as the hotel.
